Call for Abstracts – Review Criteria
All abstracts will be blinded and then peer reviewed according to the following criteria. Authors will receive feedback based on a standardized evaluation form if their submission is rejected. Submissions will have the opportunity to resubmit at no cost after receiving reviewer feedback. All accepted abstracts will be published in a supplemental issue of the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior for the Annual Conference.
Research: Abstracts will be reviewed on the following criteria utilizing a five point scale.
- Background, Rationale, Prior Research, and/or Theory
- Statement of Objective
- Study Design, Settings, Participants
- Measurable Outcome/Analysis
- Results Summary including Key Data
- Conclusions Supported by the Evidence Reported
- Potential Application of Results (Practical Importance)
- Quality of Writing
Programs: Abstracts will be reviewed on the following criteria utilizing a five point scale.
- Statement of Objective
- Target Audience
- Use of Theory, Prior Research, Rationale
- Description of Program Intervention (including materials developed or used and/or teaching techniques)
- Description of Evaluation
- Conclusions Supported by Evidence Reported
- Potential Application of Results (Practical Importance)
- Quality of Writing
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Abstracts will be reviewed on the following criteria utilizing a five point scale.
- Statement of Objective
- Use of Theory, Prior Research, Rationale
- Target Audience
- Description of Course or Curriculum
- Description of Evaluation
- Conclusions Supported by Evidence Reported
- Potential Application of Results (Practical Importance)
- Quality of Writing
